KUCHING: A delegation from China Railway Electrification Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREC) and its International Engineering Corporation paid a courtesy call on Sarawak Minister for Transport (MOTS), Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin at his office here, today.

The visit, led by its General Manager and Senior Engineer, Zu GuoZheng, focused on the company’s role as the supporting contractor for the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) system under the Kuching Urban Transport System (KUTS).

Dato Sri Lee welcomed the delegation and acknowledged the strategic importance of the ART project in enhancing the urban transport infrastructure of Kuching.

He reiterated his Ministry's support for the initiative and highlighted the need for ongoing communication between all parties involved.

During the meeting, the delegation emphasised their commitment to ensuring the successful and timely completion of the ART initiative.

The ART project represents a significant advancement in urban transportation for Kuching, aiming to enhance connectivity and improve the overall efficiency of the city’s transport infrastructure.

Also present were MOTS Permanent Secretary, Datu Wong Hee Sieng, MOTS Head of Land Transport and Logistics Division, Chong Chi Fam, as well as Deputy General Manager of China Railway Engineering Corporation, Wang Hao, and Deputy Chief Engineer, Chen Jingfei. -UKASnews
