SRI AMAN: Sri Aman Hospital (HSA) recently held an open day as an effort to reach out to the local community.

Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis applauded the hospital’s effort to introduce its services to the people.

He praised the hospital staff for helping the public understand the its many healthcare services through the service counters set up at the event.

Datuk Francis said this in his text of speech read by the Acting Director of Sri Aman Hospital, Dr Sim Poh Ling during the event.

Meanwhile, the new Sri Aman Hospital, called the Sri Aman II Hospital, began operating in stages since 2021 and has 108 beds.

It has made healthcare much more accessible for local residents, reducing the need for families to travel to Kuching for specialist care.

Sri Aman II Hospital has many specialist doctors, including experts in fields such as medicine, psychiatry, surgery, orthopaedics, emergency care, and anaesthesiology.

Therefore, a key goal of the Open Day was to inform the public about services available at the hospital, with a focus on delivering the best possible healthcare to the community.

Earlier in the day, an aerobics session was followed by the HSA Run, featuring 10KM and 5KM races, which were flagged off by Dr Sim Poh Ling, representing Datuk Francis Harden.

Also present were Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Peter Nyomek Nyeap, Deputy Director II of Sri Aman Hospital, Dr Naquib Akmal Kassim, Chairman of the Sri Aman Hospital Medical Advisory Committee, Dr Wong Teck Siong, and others. -UKASnews
