SUPP Bintulu Facilitates SCHB Applications for Elderly

BINTULU: The Mobile Services 2U programme by the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Bintulu Branch will offer a counter for applying for the Senior Citizens Health Benefits Scheme (SCHB) from August 7 to 9, 2024.

According to Tanjong Batu assemblyman, Johnny Pang Leong Ming, the counter is intended to facilitate the application process for the elderly, making it more accessible for them to apply for the scheme.

“The counter will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the SUPP Bintulu Office, located at Level One, No. 65, Bintulu Sentral Commercial Centre.

“All eligible senior citizens are reminded to bring their identification cards when visiting the counter to apply for assistance,” he said.

He made these remarks during a press conference held at the SUPP Bintulu Branch Office on Monday.

For the record, a total of 75,137 senior citizens registered under the State Welfare Assistance Management (SWAM) and e-Kasih are eligible for SCHB.

To qualify for SCHB, applicants must be at least 60 years of age, possess a Malaysian identity card marked as ‘K’, have a household income not exceeding RM7,000 per month, and not be receiving outpatient treatment funding or coverage from other sources.

Nine clinics in the Bintulu Division have been designated as panel clinics for the scheme.

These include Columbia Asia Hospital Bintulu, Dr Yong Clinic, Kidurong Gateway Clinic, Dr Tang Dental Clinic, Dr Moh Dental Clinic, Viva Sentral Dental Clinic, PMG Dental Clinic Sdn Bhd, PMG Medical Clinic (Medan Jaya) Sdn Bhd, and Wira Bintulu Health Clinic. -UKASnews
