KUCHING: Heads of Departments of the Sarawak Civil Service (SCS) are urged to give their full commitment towards fulfilling the three key goals outlined in the Sarawak Digital Economy Blueprint (SDE) 2030 to spur the implementation of digital government initiatives.

Sarawak State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki said the first priority is to ensure that all state government services are easily and securely accessible online for the convenience of the public.

The second priority, he added, is that every agency should prioritise better availability and sharing of public data to help civil servants formulate policies, services, and programmes that are more business and community-oriented.

Additionally, the third emphasis is to ensure all government transactions are conducted electronically and in an integrated manner, while civil servants need to be proficient in digital tools and technology to ensure 100 per cent digital literacy.

"Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg in his mandate to the civil service earlier this year said that digitalisation is not an option but a necessity.

"Everyone is reminded to remain committed to the set targets and adhere to the values of SCS, namely Sense of Urgency and Ownership, Result Oriented, and Team Spirit.

"The true success lies in the progressive impact that we create for Sarawakians,” he said while speaking to inaugurate the Sarawak Government Digital Week 2024 with the theme 'Towards 100% Online Government Services: Vision 2030,' organised by the Sarawak Civil Service Digitalisation Unit (SCSDU) here, on Thursday.

At the same event, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar launched the SCSMobile+, an advanced application known as the SCS Super App designed to empower civil servants in carrying out their duties digitally.

Additionally, the Sarawak State Secretary graced the presentation of the SCSDU 2024 Awards, which included the Best Data Cataloging Agency Award, Best Chief Information Officer Award, Best Deputy Chief Information Officer Award, and Best Webmaster Award.

Also present at the event were Sarawak Deputy State Secretary (Administration), Datu Buckland Bangik, Sarawak Deputy State Secretary (Operation), Datu Hii Chang Kee, Sarawak Deputy State Attorney-General, Datu John Wayne Chamberlin Sirau, Sarawak Deputy State Financial Secretary, Datu Hasmawati Sapawi, and other Heads of Departments. -UKASnews
