SARIKEI: Local residents can now reap benefits from the completion of four projects under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) 2023 for the Repok Constituency.
According to Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, Dato’ Sri Huang Tiong Sii, these projects involved the upgrading of facilities of SJK Su Kwong including the fences at the entrance of the school, and the painting of court roof and classes at SJK Sze Lu in addition to the upgrading of store room facilities in the school.
Additionally, the other projects are the construction of drains behind Rumah Jupong, and the construction of a new fence at Rumah Demong.
The handover of project sites to representatives of the schools and longhouses were carried out by Joviana Joklin representing the Sarikei District Council which is the implementing agency for all the projects.
Also present were Kapitan Ling Dien Yong representing Dato’ Sri Huang, and Kapitan Tang Kee Wun.
Therefore, Dato’ Sri Huang who is also the Sarikei Member of Parliament and Repok Assemblyman expressed his hopes that the completed projects will be fully utilised for the benefit of the local students, and villagers. -UKASnews
