PADAWAN: The completion of the Kampung Abang Multipurpose Hall upgrading project marks another milestone in improving rural community facilities under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) for the Mambong constituency.
A final site inspection and official handover ceremony were held at 10 a.m., signifying the completion of the RM200,000 project which began in March 2025 and was fully completed in August 2025 within a six-month period.
The project involved extensive structural repairs, upgrades to basic amenities, and safety improvements to ensure a more comfortable and functional space for residents.
The improved facility is expected to serve as a central hub for community meetings, social gatherings, and local events, strengthening social ties and supporting grassroots activities within Kampung Abang and nearby villages.
The upgraded multipurpose hall also aligns with the State Government’s ongoing efforts to empower rural communities and enhance infrastructure under the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
The project is one of many under the RTP initiative aimed at bridging the development gap between urban and rural areas by improving access to quality facilities and community spaces.
Among those present were Keron Mapus, Special Administrative Officer to the Deputy Minister for Transport (Land and Aviation) and Mambong Assemblyman, Datuk Dr. Jerip Susil, Assistant Engineer from JKR Kuching Division, Mohd Sahriman Jokepli, Kampung Abang Chief, K.K. Rim Noyon, and representatives from the contractor. -UKASnews
