KUCHING: The Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA), through its dedicated staff organisation, the Lembaga Pembangunan dan Lindungan Tanah Staff Club (LAKSAMANA), officially launched the 4th Datu GM LCDA Sports Carnival 2025 on Sunday.
The opening ceremony, held at Pikabol, Pending Kuching, was graced by LCDA General Manager Datu Zaidi Mahdi.
The event drew nearly 200 staff members from LCDA and its group of subsidiaries.
Operating under the inspirational theme, “One Team, One Spirit,” the carnival is a cornerstone event in the organisation's annual calendar.
The carnival has successfully consolidated employees from across the LCDA ecosystem into five distinct competitive teams.
These teams comprise staff from LCDA Holdings Sdn Bhd (LHSB), LCDA Real Estate Sdn Bhd (LRESB), LCDA Agri Business Sdn Bhd (LABSB), Magna Focus Sdn Bhd (MFSB), Pengurus Harta Pelita Sdn Bhd (PHPSB), Puncak Borneo Development Sdn Bhd (PBDSB), and Faradale Development Sdn Bhd (FDSB).
The competitive schedule encompasses six sports, structured as a series of tournaments. Commencing with pickleball, the schedule continues with futsal, badminton, table tennis, and darts.
The series will conclude with the highly anticipated tenpin bowling competition, which precedes the official closing ceremony slated for November 2025.
The Datu GM LCDA Sports Carnival 2025 is a strategic initiative designed to contribute significantly to the holistic well-being of the workforce, addressing both physical and mental health aspects.
This commitment is in direct alignment with the priorities of the Sarawak Government, which consistently underscores the imperative for civil servants to maintain superior levels of physical and mental resilience.
Such high standards of health are deemed essential for fostering a more productive, resilient, and efficient public service delivery system.
Furthermore, the competition is expected to maintain a notably high standard, as the participants include nearly 50 LCDA personnel who possess significant competitive experience, having previously represented Sarawak in prestigious national tournaments.
These include the Malaysian Government Servants’ Welfare and Sports Council (MAKSAK), the All-Malaysia State Secretary Sports Meet (SUKSEM), the National Town and Country Planning Sports (SUKNA), and the Sarawak Ministries Sports (SUKEMSAR).-UKASnews
