DEBAK: The Randau Solidariti Komuniti (RSK) programme for Betong Division was launched at Rh. Stephen Lambor Linggi, Jerai, Debak on Saturday morning, drew a crowd of around 250 community members from across the area.
The event was officiated by Deputy Minister for Community Wellbeing Development Sarawak and Saribas Assemblyman, Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam.
In his address, Datuk Mohammad Razi highlighted that the strong turnout by diverse groups reflected the people’s commitment to unity and solidarity.
He stressed that cohesion across gender, age, ethnicity and faith is the foundation for social harmony and long-term stability.
“Unity and integration are the key ingredients in ensuring balanced growth and stability, not only socially and politically but also in strengthening our economy.
As we move towards achieving Sarawak’s 2030 vision of becoming a developed state, nurturing solidarity in diversity will be crucial,” he said.
Jointly organised by the Sarawak Social Development Council (MPS) and the Debak Sub-District Office, the programme also featured information booths and service counters from agencies including Service Sarawak, the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK), Betong Health Department, Welfare Department, Civil Defence Force, Fire and Rescue Department, Community Development Department (KEMAS) and Sago and Nipah Development Board (SNDB).
These agencies offered services and engagement opportunities to the public, turning the event into both a community dialogue and a practical support platform.
The RSK programme has been embraced as a symbol of shared responsibility, bridging government and community efforts in building resilience and wellbeing across Betong Division.
Also present were Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Tony Mandy Bogeg, Betong District Officer, Laga Kueh, Betong District Police Chief, Rajeli Angong, alongside leaders representing Iban, Malay and Chinese communities in Debak. -UKASnews
