POSKOM To Be Expanded Throughout Sarawak

BALINGIAN: The Sarawak Social Welfare Department (JKMS) will expand the Community Outreach (POSKOM) programme throughout Sarawak.

Sarawak Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah said POSKOM is a grassroots approach by JKMS to provide space for the people to obtain information, make complaints and access welfare services more easily.

She said this initiative is in line with the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS 2030).

She said this when officiating the POSKOM at the Mukah Divisional Level and the Launch of the Official POSKOM Sarawak Logo at the Balingian Community Hall on Saturday.

She further explained that POSKOM Mukah offers various services including OKU Card applications, Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC), Senior Citizen Health Benefit (SCHB), free health screenings, welfare assistance advisory services and agency exhibitions.

To date, eight series of POSKOM have been held throughout Sarawak with the attendance of over 6,000 participants, thus reflecting the government's commitment to ensure that no group is left out of the social support system provided.

Meanwhile, Balingian Assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi who was also present expressed his appreciation to JKMS for organising the programme.
