BARIO: The Sarawak Government is actively strengthening its commitment to improving rural infrastructure and supporting community well-being by driving development projects including through the Highland Development Agency (HDA).
In line with this, Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, Kuching North City Commission, and Islamic Affairs), Datuk Dr. Abdul Rahman Junaidi recently visited Bario to review the progress of several key projects under HDA.
Among others, he inspected the proposed road improvement projects involving former logging roads to Pa’ Derong, Pa’ Ramudu, and Batu Patong.
Datuk Dr. Abdul Rahman also reviewed the construction of new water treatment and supply systems for the communities of Pa’ Mada, Pa’ Dalih, Pa’ Ramudu, and Batu Patong.
Additionally, the Regional Corridor Development Authority (RECODA) delivered a project briefing to provide updates on implementation progress.
These initiatives are designed to strengthen connectivity, expand access to clean water and essential services, and create new socio-economic opportunities for the people of Bario and the surrounding areas.
