KUCHING: Community Leaders and Village Chiefs (KMKK) play a crucial role as intermediaries between the government and the grassroots, ensuring that development policies and agendas are effectively communicated and implemented within the community.
Dato Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, Chief Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak, said the KMKK are not only community leaders but also key figures in conveying government information and policies to the people, while also voicing community concerns at the administrative level.
“Through the 2025 Kuching District Empowerment Seminar for Community Leaders and Village Chiefs (KMKK), participants not only gain knowledge and skills but also strengthen networks of cooperation between the administration and community leaders.
“I hope the KMKK will continue to serve as dedicated and trustworthy agents in delivering policies and development initiatives,” he said during the closing ceremony of the seminar, held at the Sarawak State Library on Saturday.
The Tupong Assemblyman added that this seminar is expected to continue in the years to come as a key platform to strengthen community leadership institutions in building a harmonious and progressive society.
Organised by the Kuching District Office, the seminar aims to enhance the knowledge and leadership capacity of KMKK in managing local community affairs in alignment with the state’s development agenda. -UKASnews
