ROBAN: The UKAS Bersama Komuniti@Roban programme held at the SJKC Chung Hua Hall here serves as an important platform in conveying policies, as well as various initiatives introduced by the Sarawak Government.
Kalaka Assemblyman, Mohamad Duri extended his appreciation to the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) and the local community for the warm reception of the programme.
“We are very fortunate in the Betong area to have received a large allocation of RM1.5 billion under the Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA) initiative, including RM200 million for the Kelaka constituency,” he explained in his speech at the programme on Sunday.
Mohamad Duri added that RM91 million was also allocated for the development of the Saratok Waterfront, among the main projects planned for the benefit and well-being of the people.
He also stressed that the success of this development is the result of political stability in Sarawak and effective state government administration.
“We are planning sustainable development so that the community can live in comfort and the results can be enjoyed by all Sarawakians,” he added.
Meanwhile, Krian Assemblyman, Friday Belik, also extended his appreciation for the efforts of UKAS and all parties who made the programme a success, which was described as a symbol of wrapping up Gawai celebrations for the Iban community this year.
“Programmes like this are an important platform for us to maintain unity between communities of various races and religions in Sarawak,” he said.
He said that the harmonious atmosphere and the presence of the Iban, Malay and Chinese communities at the event proved that the spirit of goodwill and togetherness is still strong among the people of Roban.
“UKAS plays an important role in delivering accurate, authentic and up-to-date information and government policies to the people,” he said.
Also present were UKAS Director, Awang Putrayusrie Awang Redzuan, Kabong District Officer, Tahir Mohd Sharee and other invited guests. -UKASnews
