SEBAUH: Various development projects are currently being implemented in Sebauh to elevate the town to a city in the future.
Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development, Dato Sri Dr. Stephen Rundi Utom said that among the main projects planned are the construction of a mosque, church, stadium and Sebauh bridge which will be completed soon.
He added that the Sebauh Waterfront development project will also be implemented through an application to the Bintulu Development Board.
“The implementation of these projects will change the landscape of Sebauh Town with the target of upgrading its status from a town to a city,” he said.
He said this during the Aidilfitri Celebration event organised by the Kampung Hilir Sebauh Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) at the Kampung Hilir Town Hall, on Thursday.
Meanwhile, he also announced that the construction of the Sebauh New Township has been approved.
Dato Sri Dr. Stephen Rundi said that the Sebauh bridge which will be completed soon will be the main access point to the surrounding areas which will create wider development opportunities.
“Once the Sebauh Bridge is completed, we will see big changes, not only in terms of infrastructure development, but also in terms of the socio-economic aspects of the local community,” he added.
As a sign of support for the community, he announced a donation of RM30,000 to the Kampung Hilir Sebauh JKKK and RM10,000 to the Kampung Hilir Sebauh JKKK Women’s Bureau to carry out recreational activities that would benefit the residents. -UKASnews
