KUCHING: The dinner held in conjunction with the 16th General Assembly of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Sarawak symbolised the unity and strength of the party.

A total of 4,522 delegates from 82 branches attended the event, which took place at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) on Saturday, demonstrating the high level of commitment from members toward the party's direction.

Sarawak Premier and PBB Sarawak President, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, was present alongside key leadership figures, including the Party Election Committee Chairman, Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah, as well as PBB’s two Deputy Presidents, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.

The event was enlivened by a choir performance from the Sarawak Arts Council, local artists’ performances, and a lucky draw, reflecting the camaraderie among party members.

In addition to serving as a platform for fostering relationships, the assembly plays a crucial role in determining the future leadership of PBB, with the results of the party’s Supreme Council elections to be announced on Sunday, ahead of the final meeting session.

The 16th General Assembly of PBB Sarawak spans three days, from 14 to 16 February 2025, with the main agenda focused on strengthening the party’s direction in facing current political challenges.-UKASnews
