KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) continues to maintain stability and unity in facing current political challenges, further strengthening its role as the pillar of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).
Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department (Labour, Immigration and Project Monitoring), Datuk Gerawat Gala stressed that PBB will continue to play an important role in the state government by ensuring that economic and social development policies and programmes are implemented effectively.
"I am confident that PBB will play an important role in the state government. In this context, PBB's influence on the people will continue to be strong because this party is a major component in GPS, which plays a role in the broader governance structure.
"Therefore, PBB will continue to have an impact on the country's administration, especially in formulating policies and implementing programmes that benefit the people, including economic and social development aspects," he said when met at his office in Baitulmakmur I, on Thursday.
On talent development and education, he explained that the state government through the relevant ministries has introduced various programmes to ensure that Sarawak's workforce is prepared for global competition.
"Our main focus is to ensure that the younger generation receives appropriate education and training to participate in various planned economic development projects," he explained.
Addressing political challenges, Datuk Gerawat highlighted that PBB's strength lies in the unity among its members, which has been the foundation of the party’s stability for years and will remain a key pillar in Sarawak’s political landscape.
"The priority of PBB is to ensure that unity within the party continues to be maintained. Over the years, PBB has proven itself to be a strong, stable, and united party.
"On that basis, PBB has succeeded in playing its role as a factor of stability, not only at the state level but also in the current political landscape.
"Therefore, the party's main goal is to maintain this unity, unite all members as one team, and provide full support to the party's top leadership which is currently led by its President and Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg.
"The unity that has long been the pillar of PBB's strength will be continued to ensure political stability and governance in the state in the future,” he added.
Meanwhile, Datuk Gerawat explained that the party’s leadership selection process is a normal part of any mature political organisation and is expected to take place in a harmonious and cooperative manner.
He concluded by stating that PBB is expected to continue to play a major role in shaping state policies and ensuring the well-being of Sarawakians. -UKASnews
